Philip Ross and Nathan Thornton introduced Zoflora in 1922. Since then, Zoflora has become one of the most famous cleaning solutions worldwide. It’s a multipurpose cleaning solution mainly used in kitchens and bathrooms to kill 99.99 % of bacteria and viruses from the surfaces. A question commonly arises can we use Zoflora on laminate floors? The simple answer to this question is NO! Although Zoflora is a powerful and one of my favorite cleaning solutions, I do not recommend using it on laminate floors.

Laminate or polished floors are stain-resistant and have beautiful aesthetics. But if you use the wrong cleaning products for your laminate floor, you can ruin it. Zolfora is a strong cleaning solution that can reduce the shine of your laminate floor. Thus, it will help if you use other ways of cleaning your laminate floor.

If You Must Use Zoflora on Laminate Floor

If you must use Zoflora on your laminate floor, follow the steps for a safe cleaning procedure.

  • As Zoflora is a strong cleaning solution, you must dilute it with water before its application on the laminate floor. Take a bucket full of water and add four cups of Zoflora into it. Two cups of Zoflora will be enough if your room dimensions are small.
  • Dip your mop into the water and Zoflora solution and start mopping the floor.
  • Cover the entire area through mopping. You can also overlap your mopping patterns if the floor still has stains.
  • After mopping, immediately dry your floor by turning on the fans and opening the windows.

Let the floor completely dry before you step into the room. But it’s better not to use Zoflora on your laminate floor if you do not want to reduce its shine.

Other Cleaning Options for Laminate Floor

You can use safe methods of cleaning your laminate floor that is chemical-free and does not damage the floor. Here are a few of those methods that are completely safe to use on laminate floors.

Use Vinegar and Water Solution

Water and vinegar solution is one of the most famous and effective cleaning solutions. Mix one cup of vinegar into one bucket of warm water to clean your laminate floor. Take a mop and slightly damp it with this homemade cleaning solution. Ensure you are not over-wetting your mop, as water is an enemy of laminated floors. Mop your floor gently with water and vinegar solution and let your floor dry afterward. You can also spray this cleaning solution over the stained parts of the floor and clean it with a rag.

Use Gentle Cleansers

Laminate floors are sensitive, and they require special cleaning agents. Mild or gentle cleaners are good to use over laminate floors. You can make various homemade cleaning solutions. Apart from water and vinegar solution, you can make another gentle cleanser for your floor. Rubbing alcohol has good cleaning properties, so you can use it to clean your laminate floors. Take one part rubbing alcohol, three parts water, and a few drops of dish liquid into a container. Mix all these ingredients well, and your cleaning solution is ready to use.

Apply this cleaning solution to a clean piece of cloth or rag. Use this cloth to clean your laminate floor. Do not over wet the cleaning cloth with this solution. Your cleaning cloth must be damped, not wet. After cleaning your laminate floor with this homemade cleaning solution, immediately dry it with a water-absorbent dry cloth. Water isn’t good for laminate floors; that is why; you have to dry your floor after applying any cleaning solution immediately.https://www.youtube.com/embed/U7IWiORcBxU
